So here we are in Miami and what better way to start Miami Music Week than with Markus Schulz and his open-to-close marathon set at Space? This is the third time I’ve seen Schulz play an extended set – but this was easily the best of the three.

It’s hard to pick out highlights, but here are a few … Deep In The Night, Loops N Tings, Nothing Without Me, Universal Nation, Apache, Mind Gamer, 1998, Sinners, Perception, Brute.  The flow of great tunes was relentless and the clubbers lapped it all up enthusiastically, creating a great atmosphere.

The strangest thing happened at around 5am – a guy came up to me and asked me if I knew who the DJ was … and his wife was convinced it was Tiesto!

The only negative about the night was the number of smokers … apparently it’s not illegal to smoke indoors in Florida.

We lasted till nearly 6am, but Schulz was still going strong and the dance floor was still busy … the club doesn’t close till 2pm, so he could still be playing for all I know!
